Sustainable Education Content Developer: The biggest gap in successfully bringing sustainability into the camp community is having staff with the knowledge and skills to implement practical solutions to sustainability. Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome volunteers to help us in our mission of greening camps across the U.S. and Canada. While students usually intern with us, we accept students and non-students as volunteers throughout the year. Camp Outreach
Camp outreach volunteers help expand Green Camps membership by reaching out to camps in their area. Outreach volunteers are local ambassadors, raising awareness of the need for environmental sustainability and encouraging camps to take action. Outreach volunteers are trained by our team to represent Green Camps in their region; therefore, this is one volunteer opportunity of which we ask a longer-term time commitment.
Social Media Marketing
Social media volunteers help us build our social media presence so we can share our messages with the wider camp and sustainability communities. Help us develop our strategy, organize and coordinate work, create content, and engage our audiences.
Education
Our flagship is the Green Camps Cloud Community, an online platform for Green Camps Members that helps them plan and deliver green actions – and so much more. A key component of the Green Cloud is a knowledge-base of articles and other resources that provide camps with the knowledge needed to undertake actions like energy efficiency lighting audits, water conservation education, etc. We’re always looking to expand content so if you’re a good writer with expertise in an area of sustainability, this might be the volunteer opportunity for you.
